Create with CRZyBest

I often get asked ‘Do you do workshops?’ Well, the answer is ‘Yes I do’!

Fancy having a go at creating your own tiny sculpture, that could also be used as a piece of jewellery?

Maybe you are thinking ‘I want to have a go at making something, but can never make the dates!’ Well, find out more about CRZyBest workshops with answers to these frequently asked questions.

Who is going to help me make my creation?

That’ll be me! With a ‘Create with CRZyBest’ workshop you get 1-2-1 tuition from me, a fully qualified teacher and you can choose a date that suits you.

Where are CRZyBest workshops held?

You will get to experience creating in my CRZyBest Shedquarters during your bespoke workshop. My Shedquarters are situated within walking distance of Derby City centre or there is limited on street parking.

Do you do vouchers?

If you are looking for a special birthday gift for someone, then I also offer vouchers. As each of my workshops is tailored to the person attending then once the recipient has their voucher, they can get in touch with me to discuss what they would like to make and plan a date for creating their very own unique tiny sculpture.

What material would I be making things in when I create with CRZyBest?

My favourite material to create with is something called ‘precious metal clay’, so this is the main material I offer when creating with CRZyBest and you can choose from using 950 silver which can be hallmarked as 925 sterling when finished, or you can choose to create using copper clay, which turns to pure copper once fired in my kiln. Using metal clay mixes the techniques of working with ceramics, silversmithing and jewellery making. Find out more about metal clay in my blog… I also offer workshops to create versions of my tiny eco rings, bangles or even to guide you through one of my tutorials published by Cooksongold the UK's largest supplier for jewellery makers!

Will I be able to take my work home with me the same day?

Usually, your work will be left to dry naturally for 24 to 48 hours before being kiln fired, so although your creation won’t be ready to take home straight away, I aim to have all work ready to be collected or posted within a week.

All the metal clay creations, made in my Shedquarters are kiln fired in my pink kiln, whether they are silver, copper or bronze. I will also pickle, tumble and polish your creations, just as I would my own.

Can I have my creation hallmarked?

If you have made your work in 950 silver clay, then ‘yes’ you have the option to have it hallmarked. This process can take up to six weeks as your creation will be sent off to the Assay Office in London, read more about hallmarking in my blog or on the website for Goldsmiths Hall.

Create with CRZyBest workshops start from £180 including materials.
